Calculate sale price, savings and percentage off instantly
This free discount calculator shows your sale price and how much you save. Enter the original price and the discount percentage, or tap a quick percentage, and the results appear instantly. It also compares the same price at many other discount levels.
It is useful for sales, Black Friday deals, coupons, clearance racks and any time you want to check the real price after a percentage off.
Examples:
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100 to get the savings. Subtract the savings from the original price to get the sale price. A 20% discount on $100 saves $20 and the sale price is $80.
Divide the sale price by 1 minus the discount as a decimal. If an item costs $60 after 25% off, the original price was 60 ÷ 0.75 = $80.
They multiply, they do not add. A 20% discount followed by another 10% discount is not 30% off. It is 1 − (0.8 × 0.9) = 28% off in total.
In many places sales tax is charged on the discounted price, but rules and store policies vary. Check your receipt or local rules to be sure.
Subtract the sale price from the original price, divide by the original price and multiply by 100. For example, $80 down to $60 is (80 − 60) ÷ 80 × 100 = 25% off. The Percentage Calculator can do this for you.
After you enter a price, the calculator compares the sale price and savings at common discount levels from 10% to 80%. It helps you judge how good a deal really is.
Note: Results do not include tax, shipping or other fees. Store prices and rules may differ.
