How Salary Conversion Works

Weekly = Hourly ร— Hours per day ร— Days per week
Annual = Weekly ร— 52
Monthly = Annual รท 12
Take-home = Annual ร— (1 โˆ’ Tax rate)

Example: $25 per hour, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Daily pay is $200 and weekly pay is $1,000. Annual pay is $1,000 ร— 52 = $52,000, and monthly pay is about $4,333. With a 22% tax rate, estimated tax is $11,440, so take-home is about $40,560 per year, or $3,380 per month.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert an hourly wage to an annual salary?

Multiply your hourly rate by the hours you work per week, then by 52 weeks. For a standard 40-hour week that is hourly rate ร— 2,080. A wage of $25 per hour comes to $52,000 per year.

How is the monthly salary calculated?

The calculator divides the annual amount by 12. This is slightly different from simply multiplying the weekly pay by 4, because an average month has about 4.33 weeks.

Is the take-home pay figure exact?

No. It applies one flat tax rate that you enter to your gross annual pay. Real taxes depend on your country, tax brackets, deductions and other factors, so treat the result as a rough estimate.

What tax rate should I enter?

Use your effective tax rate, which is the total tax you pay divided by your total income. You can estimate it from a pay slip or last year's tax return. It is usually lower than the highest tax bracket you fall into.

Can I use this for a part-time job?

Yes. Change the hours per day and days per week to match your schedule, and the weekly, monthly and annual amounts will update to match.

Does this include overtime, bonuses or unpaid leave?

No. The calculator assumes the same hours every week for all 52 weeks of the year. If you have unpaid time off, bonuses or overtime, your real income will be different.
